A gypsywitch friend came to visit us in her housebus. We went for a cruise round the suburban streets of Tauranga. I am boldened by the people I get to share my life with. It was outrageous seeing a long, faded-turquoise bus (of possibility) parked alongside the neighbour’s footpath at the end of our ‘consistent’ drive. I felt adventure do her karanga. I felt courage call my name. I heard that 80s slogan whispering triumphantly ‘Women can do anything’. I’m grateful for the humans in my life and the power they transmit through their bravery.

Visual Art. Mine. Oil pastels are the best. Who’s been to @taurangaartgallery these school holidays? The kids went earlier in the week and L O V E D it.

Baked Couscous with Summer Vegetables care of @nigelslater. Husband started running Ultra Marathon’s last year. To accompany such a feat his consumed many running books, two of these featured runners who now longer eat animals and one who doesn’t eat animal bi-products. For many reasons husband is now plant powered. Tonight we cook for him. Here’s to all the plant powered people in our world.

Bay of Plenty-ites, today is the LAST day to tell Council what you WANT re: kerbside glass recycling and whether you think rubbish collection including recycling should be within your rates (and therefore seemingly free for people to recycle) OR if you think both situations should stay as they are 1) you have to take your glass recycling to maleme st, te maunga or local collection points AND 2) you have to pay for recycling, and rubbish to be collected. Democracy is an active process one which requires us to participate in it, in order for it to be TRUE.
