Looking for a rainy day activity? This Thursday 12th and Friday 13th of January, Emily Mowbray-Marks is offering a Shadow Puppetry ‘explore-shop’ for kids aged 7-12 years.

Be prepared to draw, trace and cut, play some drama games, explore light and shadow and tell underwater stories. Students will make their own shadow puppet, and then operate it in a showing for family on the final day.

Emily Mowbray-Marks grew up in the Bay and as a young girl regularly performed on Baycourt’s stage. She now returns to her home soil to offer explore-shops and events to people of all ages through www.wildandgrace.wordpress.com. Emily trained as an actor at Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School, and has been involved in theatre, musical theatre and TV over the past 13 years. She first taught Shadow Puppetry with Kate Parker of Red Leap Theatre http://www.redleaptheatre.co.nz/gallery.php?t=g&cid=4. Emily is also a Drama and Health Secondary School Teacher and works very-part-time in schools whilst being a Mum to Clara. Emily adores leading creative events big and small whilst encouraging others to create, get in nature and be happy.
