Maggie Thompson formerly owned Little Cake Kitchen, infamous for its cinnamon brioche, red velvet cake with cream cheese icing & gluten free hummingbird cake. Maggie now runs florabunda & cake where she makes wonderful wedding cakes, celebration cakes and cakes for cake’s sake. She also makes exquisite sugar flowers (and has travelled around the world learning how to craft these) to place on her culinary creations.

I hate surprises…tell me more about how the day runs?
We will learn the secrets behind a successful hot looking and tasting spongecake. We will all make our own batch of scones (with various twists on grandma’s classic recipe). We will learn what stiff peaks are among other baking must-haves. There won’t be any more than a dozen of us (cos that’s harmonious numerology in the world of baking). You can be a beginner or you can be a-not-beginner-anymore (there’s something for everyone at Scones and Spongecake (a food & flower event). We’ll then devour our efforts with teas and cafe au lait (or feel free to bring champagne if it’s French) within Maggie’s garden abundant with perfume, rich colours and green canopies. You’ll leave for home armed with secret recipes, a garden glow, and a lingering sensation…
