I adore the Community Gardens down by the railway at the top of Levers Road, Matua, Tauranga.
I love the way her seasons, hues, silhouettes, sculptures of nature frame my daily rhythm during transporting of me and the children.
Our eldest daughter loves taking homemade biscuits down under the flowering cherry trees, and chasing the trains.
There’s a walnut and fig (?) grove I’m always forgetting to visit at foraging time.
Today is the final hours of 2014.
Thank you wind, honey bees, insects, sun, moon, light, birds, seeds, rains, and tending folk.
Beautiful photo’s Em, have a grand beginning
to the New Year!
Kia ora, great photos. I am a part of the gardens in Otumoetai and was wondering if you would like to share some of the photos that you took back in 2014 with us so we can put up a display on the shed down there.
Oh yes, I’d love that. Hmmm, are you happy to ‘take’ them from this website? Or did you have something else in mind? I adore your (and many other) community garden(s). I see them as a multi-edged community gift, giving to those who garden, and those who wander through soaking up the beauty, wellness and inspiration. I would be honoured to be able to ‘thank’ the community gardens for their ‘gift’, for providing solace, nourishment and peacefulness to the community and for ‘hosting’ and feeding bees.
