Here is a guide in no particular order of mostly online stores that sell sheepskin (woollen, leather and hard soled) UGG or sheepskin boots, slippers, and little booties for babies.
I have included links to the slip in clog like sheepskin slipper for adults because i LOVE them. I can wear them outside for an arm full of firewood, or pinch something off the washing-line to biff in the clothes dryer as they have hard soles. I can be half asleep while i do this, and the slip in and off you go style means i don’t have to bend down, pull on/off these snug little bundles of goodness fondly known from my childhood as UGG boots. I also found this style to be great all year round (as as one website professed, woollen slippers even help to keep your feet cool in summer) and bloody oath i am here to tell you it’s true. I find the fuller boot a little too hot after a while (truth be told).
I have also included the more full style boot for the kids, cos i reckon their little bods can take a little more heat (maybe i’m wrong?). And in my mind there’s nothing cuter than seeing kids in flannelette PJs, dressing gowns and UGG boots as they leave the hot pools, or fetch the takeaway fish ‘n’ chips on a winter’s night.
For good measure so no body’s feet feel left out i’ve included the babies where stores cater for these little tootsies.
To make it perfectly plain i’m all about the wool rather than a polyester counterfeit.
Here’s my reasons i choose wool over polyester:
* Wool will decompose with time. No earthling has been around long enough to tell us how long polyester (made from crude oil) and a human made product takes to decompose (if ever). I like the notion that when i die, what i used dies either before me or with me where-ever possible.
* It lasts (my 3 kids keep handing their pre-loved size down to their siblings).
* I think polyester smells after a while.
* I hate the feel of polyester thermals, clothing, fabrics, materials on my body. This includes polar-fleece, nylon, even lycra. It has a freaky, almost claustrophobic heat for me, and one thing we all know is polyester doesn’t breathe. I guess it’s like wrapping our body in glad wrap.
