Saturday 7 October – WELLBEING – Tauranga International Marathon. The Tauranga International Marathon: It’s not like any other marathon event. Well, you can still run/walk 42.2km, 21.1km, 10.5km or 6km—plus there’s a kids (and parents!) dash. But here’s the clincher—it’s the first ever international marathon event to be held in New Zealand’s sunshine capital. Think sea, sun, surf; think cafés, culture and seriously cool stuff; think fast, flat, fun. Marathon starts at 7am. Cost: From $19 – $149. Venue: NB: Different start locations for different distances. 42.2kms starts Downtown Tauranga Waterfront.

Sunday 8 October 10.30am till 2.30pm – PERFORMANCE – Mount Busking Festival. A fantastic day on Mount Mainstreet with Buskers galore!  Check out the talent and vote for your favourite to be in the draw to win $50 Mount Mainstreet cash! Sit back or cruise the street for a great atmosphere to enjoy.  Grab a coffee or beverage, a bite to eat alfresco, then soak up the Magic of Mount Mainstreet. Free photo booth plus lots of activities for the kids such as donkey rides, animal petting pens, Pepi Toot train rides around the Mount streets, free pop corn, fun games out on the closed road, face painting, spider man, balloon twisting, stilt man and trampoline.  The Sunday Farmers Market will also be operating in Phoenix Car Park. 19 till 29 October – ARTS –  Tauranga Arts Festival. Established in 1999 we are Tauranga’s flagship arts festival. We deliver world-class programme direct from leading artists and performers at the peak of their practice. It’s a live experience that you don’t have to travel to Auckland for or be living in London – it happens right here in Tauranga. We bring the community together and the City alive over 10 days, from the 19-29 October 2017. The Festival activates the Tauranga CBD, presenting performances and exhibitions from the Carrus Crystal Palace, Baycourt, the Tauranga Art Gallery and throughout the streets. But it doesn’t stop there. Cost: Tickets range from free community events up to $46 for full price adult tickets. Join Heart of Tribe founders Kara-Leah & Ben for a day-long yoga-inspired journey into the heart of self-love. Learn how to use practical tools to embrace your weaknesses, your flaws, your shadow, your unconsciousness, your humanness. Learn how to embody self-love with your entire being, rather than as an intellectual concept. We’ll share conversation, we’ll practice yoga, we’ll enjoy meditation, and we’ll play with pranayama.
