It was an informative 12 hours of learning for many in the Bay of Plenty in the second week of the School Holidays October 2018, as 40+ Primary Teachers attended a workshop with Longworth Education, followed by an evening session for curious Parents and future Teachers of Longworth and other PLAY related courses.
People left both hui with ideas, evidence, theory, community and renewed vigour to pursue and provide environments for Learning through PLAY in their classrooms, playgrounds, playcentres, homes, centres and spaces for learning.
Great thanks to Linda Cheer (Longworth Education), Bruce Cheer, Natasha Mitchell, Morag Hughson, Richard Kluitt, Claire Sands-Robertson, Tracy Giacon, Fergusson Park Clubrooms, The Fire Service, Ohauiti Settlers’ Hall, Matua Plunket Kindergarten, Jeremy Marks & the kids (and an extra special thanks to Julie Jellett for braving the rain) for helping deliver an enlightening day.
We’re looking forward to hosting Pennie Brownlee with ‘Sacred Urge to Play’ on Sunday 4 November AND ‘Peace, Power & Partnership’ on Friday 2 November both in Tauranga.
